Children's Summer Reading Log (PDF)

HOW TO TAKE PART

1. Pick up a reading log and decide how you want to measure your reading over the course of the Summer Reading Program, from June 21st to August 30th.

2. Parents get to set the pace of reading over the summer. You can choose to measure the number of chapters read, the time spent reading, or books read. Parents decide how they want to measure
their child’s reading. For younger kids, parents can read to their children and track the books they have read.

3. When you read the required amount, mark a step on the reading track!

4. Attending Summer Reading Events can also be counted as a step on the Reading Log, if parents permit.

5. For every 5 steps on your Reading Log you complete, you can come in and turn in your ticket and pick up a prize.

6. To claim your prize, fill out the appropriate prize tickets inside this reading log, and turn them in at the Youth Services Desk at the Old Bridge Public Library Central Branch, or the Desk at the Laurence Harbor Branch.

7. At the end of the Summer, all tickets turned in will be put together for a Grand Prize Drawing. One lucky winner will receive a $50 gift card for Barnes & Noble or Toys R’ Us. Winners will be announced by September 6th.
