Director's Welcome
Welcome to the Old Bridge Public Library web site! We
are delighted that you are here. I am very proud to head
up a team of library staff who are never flagging in their
desire and motivation to provide the residents of our community
with the best possible library service, in all its facets
each and every day.
Old Bridge Township is a geographically large and culturally
diverse community. We serve our community directly through
two branches:
the Central Branch located in the Municipal Complex and
the Laurence Harbor Branch located by the waterfront in
Laurence Harbor. We are
a member of the Libraries of Middlesex Automation Consortium,
a consortium composed of twenty-five libraries in Middlesex,
Monmouth and Union
counties. Our membership in the Consortium brings access
to the resources of all the member libraries to our residents
of Old Bridge. Your
Old Bridge library card is welcome in any of these libraries;
and we have reciprocal borrowing agreements with most of
the public libraries
in Bergen County as well.
Our mission statement reads: “The Old Bridge Public Library
provides a dynamic professional environment to meet the cultural,
educational and recreational needs of all members of our community.” We
take this commitment very seriously. Whether you are seeking information;
want to find the best book to read; wish to attend a music concert
or other cultural event; introduce your children to the world of
learning and enrichment through storytimes or after-school programs;
bring your teen to participate in the Teen Advisory Board; attend
monthly Family programs; or spend time in the newly opened “Senior
Spaces;” or just want to read your favorite current magazine
in our Living Room space, we welcome you and look forward to getting
to know you better.
We encourage you to let us know how we are doing in meeting our
goal of providing the best library to the best community!
