Librarian I: Adult and Information Services Department (Part-time)

The Old Bridge Public Library seeks a part-time Librarian to join our team. This is a position for someone with a sense of humor, strong customer service skills, ability to think outside the “box”, someone who wants to be actively involved in the community, and has the ability to serve a multicultural population.Knowledge of current adult and information services standards and practices as well as strong customer service and communication skills are essential. Responsibilities include: staffing the Adult & Information Services Desk, innovative programming, reader’s advisory, collection development and outreach services.This position requires an ALA accredited MLS and the ability to obtain a New Jersey Professional Librarian Certificate. The Library requires that a criminal background check be performed before a job offer can be made. The 18 hour work week includes 2 nights per week and some weekend hours. Additional on-call hours may be available. Salary is $24.70 per hour. Library employees are members of AFSCME and belong to the PERS pension system. Library Page: Circulation / Youth Services

$7.15 per hour

The Old Bridge Public Library has a part-time Library Page position available in the Circulation and Youth Services Departments. The main responsibilities of the position will be shelving books and other Library materials and to ensure that areas of the Library are neat and orderly. Applicants must be courteous, motivated and willing to learn the use of new or unfamiliar equipment. Some general office knowledge preferred.

This position requires extensive standing and walking must be able to lift and carry, bend and twist, push and pull. This position is an 18 hour per week position. Candidates for this position must be willing to work evenings and weekends. The successful candidate for this position must be available to work the following schedule: Mondays 4pm – 8pm, Tuesdays 4pm – 8pm, Wednesdays 4pm – 8pm, and Saturdays 10am – 4:30pm.
