Join educators Dr. Lauren Neitzke Adamo, Director of Rutgers University Geology Museum, and Dr. Lucas Zoet, Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, as they broadcast their field research live from Rhone Glacier in Switzerland! The team is developing ways to predict the sliding speeds of glaciers and ice sheets to help predict glacial change in the polar regions. Best suited for ages 13 and up.
PolarTREC (Teachers and Researchers Exploring and Collaborating) is a program in which teachers from the United States (both formal and informal) spend 3-6 weeks participating in hands-on field research experiences in the polar regions. The goal of PolarTREC is to invigorate polar science education and understanding by bringing educators and polar researchers together.
