Welcome to Old Bridge Public Library’s summer reading program!

Summer Reading Kickoff

Start your summer with fun on Saturday, June 23rd, at our celebratory summer reading kickoff! There will be crafts and programs for all ages, and a special family program – Libraries Rock! at 11 a.m.

Listen along as Mr. John has children and their families singing and playing along with his guitar, puppets, games and even magic bubbles! Great for ages 1–8!

Free ice cream, provided by Friendly’s, will be available at 12 pm (while supplies last).

Summer Reading Programs

Libraries Rock! (kids)

Join the library’s Summer Reading Club! Read books and earn prizes! For every five books you read, programs you attend, or puzzles you complete, you’ll get a prize! Choose Team Red or Team Blue, and help your team get the most points to win our Summer Reading marathon! Ask at the Youth Services Desk for more information or blank reading logs.

Libraries Rock! (teens)

Write reviews! You can review anything (books read, movies watched, programs attended, games played, etc.). Get a review pamphlet when you visit the library, download one below, or visit the online summer reading portal and create a free account. Each review/post earns you a snack and puts you into that week’s raffle drawing. All reviews go into the end of summer drawings for prizes. You can enter as many reviews as you want, but snacks are limited to 3 per day. Ask at the Youth Services Desk for more information or blank review forms.

Libraries Rock! (adults)

Don’t let the kids have all the fun this summer!  Join our 2018 Adult Summer Reading Challenge and show off your inner reading rockstar!

The 2018 Adult Summer Reading Challenge is open to all Old Bridge Public Library cardholders who are at least 18 years old. Download and print your Reading Challenge Bingo Card or pick one up at either the Central or Laurence Harbor Branches beginning June 23.

You have from June 23–August 18 to complete challenges on the bingo card.  Some are reading challenges (feel free to read in any format – book, audiobook, eBook) and others are library activity challenges, such as attending a library program or using a library computer.

After completing a challenge, come to the library to get the square stamped.  For each stamp you earn, you will receive a ticket to enter in our prize raffles.  You may submit tickets for the prizes of your choice, but you are only eligible to win a prize once this summer.

If you complete a BINGO on your card (five stamps across, down or diagonal) you will automatically be entered in the drawing for one of our grand prizes.  Limit one BINGO per card.  For an extra challenge, blackout the entire bingo card (all squares stamped) to receive a bonus grand prize entry.

Winners for all prizes will be drawn and notified during the week of August 20.
