Welcome to Old Bridge Public Library’s summer reading program!
Start your summer with fun on Saturday, June 29th, at our celebratory summer reading kickoff! There will be crafts and programs for all ages, and a special family program – Up, Up and Away in Space at 11 a.m.
This show will open up the fantastic world of space and flight. This engaging, family science show will feature floating planets, rockets and a hovercraft.
Free ice cream, provided by Friendly’s, will be available at 12 pm (while supplies last).
Summer Reading Programs
A Universe of Stories (kids)
Join the library’s Summer Reading Club! Read books and earn prizes! Each review/post earns you a snack and puts you into a special raffle drawing. All reviews go into the end of summer drawings for prizes.
The first review you hand in signs you up. If you’re doing it online, just follow the link
A Universe of Stories (teens)
Write reviews! You can review anything (books read, movies watched, programs attended, games played, etc.). Get a review pamphlet when you visit the library, download one below, or visit the online summer reading portal and create a free account. Each review/post earns you a snack and puts you into that week’s raffle drawing. All reviews go into the end of summer drawings for prizes. You can enter as many reviews as you want, but snacks are limited to 3 per day. Ask at the Youth Services Desk for more information or blank review forms.
A Universe of Stories (adults)
Don’t let the kids have all the fun this summer! Join our 2019 Adult Summer Reading Challenge and show off your inner reading explorer!
Beginning on June 24, register at the Library’s Information Desk to receive your Reading Log. Anyone aged 18 or older with a valid Old Bridge Public Library card is eligible to participate.
Read the books that you enjoy! Audiobooks, eBooks & graphic novels count too. Write the title & author of each book in your Reading Log. Bring your log to the Library’s Information Desk and receive a raffle ticket for each title you’ve read. If you fill your Reading Log, you can pick up another. The more you read, the more chances you have for winning!
The last day to present your Reading Log and enter raffle tickets is Sunday, August 18.
All Adult Summer Reading participants who read at least one book will automatically be entered in the Grand Prize Drawing for a telescope. Raffle tickets may be entered into the drawings for our Book Lover Prize Packs. You may submit multiple tickets for the prize packs of your choice, but each participant is only eligible to win a prize pack once during the summer.
All prize drawings will be held the week of August 19. Winners will be notified by telephone.
