Old Bridge, NJ – Feb. 27, 2017 – Vocalist and guitarist Ken Lelen will perform his “Juke Joint Jive” concert at the Old Bridge Public Library on Sat. March 11th at 2:30pm. He will sing popular love songs from days of old and play vintage acoustic guitars that produce sounds that are authentic to the 1930s and 40s. Lelen has performed regularly across the East Coast for over 20 years, and his Vintage Music concerts combine musical, historical or romantic programs with acoustic renditions of American swing and jazz.
This “Juke Joint Jive” performance is part of the Library’s monthly Second Saturday Concert Series. Lelen will perform the memorable toe-tapping hits that were popular with stage door Johnnies, lindy hoppers, bobbie soxers, drugstore cowboys, jitter buggers and zoot suiters. More information can be found at www.kenlelen.blogspot.com.
“Ken’s concerts offer audiences an opportunity to experience great American ragtime, jazz and swing, along with clever lyrics, memorable melodies and charming anecdotes,” noted Library Director Nancy Cohen. “We’re pleased to welcome such a respected, talented artist to the Library and are certain that our patrons will thoroughly enjoy this trip down memory lane.”
Attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for donation to the Old Bridge Food Pantry to the free concert.
