Old Bridge, NJ – Aug. 3, 2018 – The Old Bridge Public Library has partnered with the Shoppes at Old Bridge for a free “Book Bash” community event on Thursday, August 16th from 3-6pm. It will feature food, music and activities at the Shoppes located at 601 Texas Road and Route 9 north.
The event will be held rain or shine under tents, and will be highlighted by an appearance by popular local children’s author and entertainer Rachelle Burk (The Walking Fish; Don’t Turn the Page) who is known for her interactive programs. Additionally, there will be a DJ, face painting, henna tattoos, crafts and prize raffles from retailers at the Shoppes. The Library’s outreach van will also be on-site to collect donations for a school supply drive. Attendees are encouraged to bring common school supplies that will be distributed before the new school year to children in need in the community.
“We’re pleased for this opportunity to join forces with the Shoppes at Old Bridge to host this free event that families will enjoy,” noted Library Director Nancy Cohen. “Outreach activities such as this help expand our presence in the community we are proud to serve.”
