Old Bridge, NJ – December 11, 2017 — The Old Bridge Public Library will offer a special holiday concert featuring respected local musicians performing the harpsichord, violin and keyboard.
On Saturday, Dec. 23rd at noon, the noted violinist Alexei Yavtuhovich and harpsichordist/keyboardist Shea Velloso will appear in concert, presenting a program of holiday and seasonal music as well as pieces by J.S. Bach and G.F. Handel. Old Bridge resident Yavtuhovich was born in Belarus, earned a degree at Sokolovsky’s Musical College in Belarus, and was a member of the Belarus State Concert Orchestra, the prestigious Belarus State Concert Orchestra and Belarus String Quartet. He has performed internationally throughout Europe. Velloso is a graduate of Mason Gross School of the Arts in New Brunswick, has studied under acclaimed organists Paul Martin Maki and Gordon Turk, and has appeared in concerts on the public radio show “Pipedreams” and on Public Television. He serves as Director of Music at United Methodist Church in Milltown, NJ.
While the event is free and open to the public, attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for donation to the Old Bridge Food Pantry.
“We are pleased to be able to present this special concert featuring outstanding local musicians,” noted Library Director Nancy Cohen. “I hope residents take advantage of this rare opportunity to hear the beautiful harpsichord in concert, accompanied by a world-class violinist.”
